Our current captain is Mack Tolbert.  
Mack is the first captain elected that was once in the junior squad.  He is also the only captain to follow his father, JB Tolbert, who transferred the reigns to Mack on January 1, 2010.

Mack came to the junior squad in 1994, when he was 12 years old.  He became an EMT at age 16 and joined the senior squad at 18.  After high school, Mack began nursing school and became a Register Nurse.  After nursing school, Mack obtained certification as a Paramedic.  He currently is employed with North Carolina Baptist Hospital, where he is a RN-Medic with AirCare.  He also teaches in the paramedic program through Southwest VA Community College.

Mack has been happily married for 3 1/2 years to Brandi who is also on the rescue squad.
